These are sterile, single-use, flexible plastic devices with notches and flanges in a single plane. Alternate flanges are tucked under the iris to engage the notches at the pupil margin and give an expanded pupil. Each device is loaded in a housing with a transparent lid that delivers it sterile at the incision, and each unit is packed individually in a sterile pack. The device is inserted, engaged to the pupil margin and removed using the B-HEX 23 G forceps.

An ergonomically designed, non-sterile, reusable titanium microsurgical forceps with a short curved stalk and serrated jaws. The jaws open in a plane perpendicular to the squeeze handle. It is the necessary accessory for grasping and manipulating the B-HEX and B-OCTA Pupil Expanders, and is sterilized by moist heat (autoclaving).
